EVERETT — Three people on a small Cessna plane are OK after an emergency water landing near Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo.

Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the plane landed in Puget Sound next to the Lighthouse Park boat dock, according to a social media post. Beforehand, the pilot communicated with Paine Field Airport that the small Cessna plane had lost power and would need to make an emergency landing.

Nearby boaters and bystanders helped the three occupants out of the plane. Mukilteo Fire Department responded to the scene and transported them to a nearby station for treatment. No injuries were reported.

The plane sank into the water, and the boat dock remains closed while officials conduct an investigation. Mukilteo Police are in communication with the U.S. Coast Guard, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
