The Everett AquaSox completed a three-run comeback against the league-leading Eugene Emeralds on Tuesday night to earn their fifth win in the last six games. After trailing 4-1 in the eighth inning, Everett’s offense came alive to score five runs in the frame and one in the ninth in a 7-4 win.

The win moves Everett to 50-47 as the NWL first-half champs are 13-18 in the second half and in third place overall.

Josh Caron’s (1-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, 2 runs) sixth-inning solo homer to left center field led to Everett’s only score of the first two-thirds of the game. The AquaSox brought just three hits into the eighth inning, a figure they would match in that frame alone.

A pitch hit Luis Suisbel (0-for-3, 2 runs) to start the eighth while Charlie Pagliarini (1-for-4, 2B, run) doubled to advance him to third. A walk from reigning NWL Player of the Week Tai Peete (0-for-4, run) loaded the bases while Josh Caron brought Suisbel in on a fielder’s choice to cut the deficit to 4-2.

Anthony Donofrio (1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 runs) then erased the lead with a line-drive double to left field to score Pagliarini and Peete. 4-4.

Carter Dorighi’s (2-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI) single ended up scoring Caron and Donofrio to put Everett up 6-4 with one inning to play.

Suisbel would score his second run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth to give Everett its final 7-4 cushion.

On the bump, Shaddon Peavyhouse (2-3) earned his second win of the season by allowing one run over the sixth and seventh innings with three Ks. Reliever Hunter Cranton picked up his third save of the season by allowing zero hits in the final inning.
