After 10 years of the hard rock life, Experience Music Project is ready to reveal the first major update of its Sound Lab gallery.
Sound Lab was developed so visitors who vary in ages and musical backgrounds could try out the instruments in the museum’s exhibitions.
In Sound Lab, visitors can learn to play music with real instruments and can jam with others who are performing in real time.
The Sound Lab grand reopening is the first event to mark the museum’s yearlong, 10-year anniversary celebration. EMP opened June 23, 2000.
EMP members get first crack at the new lab from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the museum, 325 Fifth Ave. N., Seattle.
General admission is $15 for adults, $12 for children, students, military and seniors. Children under 5 are free. For more information, call 206-770-2700 or go to www.empsfm.org.
