Evergreen Arboretum to host two-day sculpture exhibition

EVERETT — A two-day sculpture exhibition at Evergreen Arboretum this month will feature youth carving workshops and artist demonstrations.

The event, put on by the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in conjunction with the Northwest Stone Sculptors Association, is scheduled for Aug. 19-20 at the arboretum, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett.

The exhibition will be open to the public on the Arboretum grounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Sculptors will give demonstrations of their work at the exhibition and at the Fresh Paint event set for Aug. 19 in downtown Everett.

Evergreen Arboretum also will host two youth stone carving workshops for ages 9 and older Aug. 19. These workshops will teach participants the art of carving animal shapes from soapstone.
