Family movie for free? If you’re feeling the post-holiday pain in the wallet, here’s the antidote: The Adopt A Stream Foundation is showing the Imax movie “Beavers” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Northwest Stream Center at McCollum Park in Everett.

“In my opinion, ‘Beavers’ is one of the best nature films out there,” said Adopt A Stream Director Tom Murdoch in a press release. “It takes you on a ‘swim’ with beavers building a dam and a lodge … they are truly amazing engineers.”

It’s free, but you must call in advance to register because space is limited: 425-316-8592.

Northwest Stream Center is at 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
