Modest Mouse, Spoon playing Everett

So the End’s putting on one of those “holiday” shows Dec. 6 at the Everett Events Center, where a bunch of mid-level acts get together shortly before Christmas to play the rock and roll.

Will they be selling $30 T-shirts that depict surly elves while promoting the radio station?

Magic eight ball says: Outcome looks good.

The line up for the show also looks good. Washington’s own Modest Mouse share the bill with Jimmy Eat World, Spoon, Coheed and Cambria, She Wants Revenge and The Kooks. They’re at least batting .500 with that team, right?

While there was some speculation the venue might lose big-deal concerts to other venues, recent history finds the arena holding its own. Along with this show, there was the Tool concert that sold out in 30 minutes, a Switchfoot and Relient K Christian rock show in December, and, come January, another round with the Blue Man Group.

Granted, sometimes getting big names just takes some time. Everything, everything, will be just fine.

Tickets for 107.7 The End’s Deck the Hall Ball are $37.50, and go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday. For more info, call 866-332-8499 or go here.

Oh, and on a sidenote, if you haven’t seen Modest Mouse’s newest video yet, you should check it out. Make sure you’ve got a hanky, though – it’s a weeper.
