Transition Movement blossoming in Everett

There’s a new eco-movement afoot and it’s called Transition.

It’s led by groups of people who aren’t debating whether we’ve hit peak oil. They’re getting ready to live without the stuff.

Of course, it’s a process, a transition, indeed, in the face of climate change. (Read “Life After Oil,” an article in the latest edition of Conscious Choice magazine.)

Green Everett is one of the groups leading the way locally with regular meetings, including a special “Gathering of Like-Minded Thinkers” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 18.

It’s a chance to learn about the Transition Movement, a new grassroots, community-based movement working toward local resilience, self-sufficiency and sustainable communities.

I think we’re onto something here, no?
