The Edmonds Police Department responded to the report of a residential burglary in progress on June 24 in the 9900 block of 238th St. Southwest. The reporting party, a 16-year-old girl, told the 911 operator that there were people in her house and that she was hiding in a back bedroom.

Edmonds Police officers were on-scene within minutes of the call at approximately 2:40 p.m., but the suspects had already left the house, according to a press release. Officers obtained a description from the victim and began searching the area. A few minutes later officers located three suspects, and the vehicle they had used, a short distance away from the victims home.

The victim was able to positively identify one of the suspects and identified a second suspect as someone that she had seen knocking on her door moments prior to the burglary. The victim also identified a television taken from her home that officers had located in the suspect’s vehicle.

All three suspects, a 22-year-old Mount Vernon man, a 23-year-old Marysville man and a 25-year-old Everett woman, were arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on burglary charges.

The actions of the suspects in this incident are very typical of many residential burglaries that the Edmonds Police investigate, according to Sgt. Don Anderson. In these case, a suspect will approach the front door, knock or ring the bell and if no one answers they assume that no one is home. They will then go around to the back of the house and force entry into the home by way of a window or door.
