VANCOUVER, B.C. — A Quaker couple from Vermont have kicked off a trek down the West Coast to raise awareness of climate change.
Louis Cox and Ruah SwenÂnerfelt, of Charlotte, Vt., will travel from Vancouver to San Diego by foot and gives talks along the way.
The pair say they want to take the message of 18th century Quaker John Woolman about right living and apply it to the current global crisis.
Swennerfelt says since they’ll be walking to each destination along the way, people might take the time to appreciate the message.
The couple’s first U.S. stop will be Bellingham.
They plan to walk about 15 miles a day.
