Drowning death at Wallace Falls ruled an accident

Sarah Zimmerman, of Bothell, was spotted in the waters below the lower falls around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

GOLD BAR — A death at Wallace Falls has been ruled an accident.

Sarah A. Zimmerman, of Bothell, was spotted in the waters below the lower falls around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses called for help. A helicopter from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office found her body. Efforts to reach her were stalled by swift water and treacherous terrain. A dive team brought Zimmerman’s body to shore.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Thursday evening that she had drowned. She was 30.

Wallace Falls State Park is northeast of Gold Bar.
