An Everett man and his son Tuesday were charged with three counts each of possessing computer images of child pornography.

Larry H. Nelson, 47, and his son, Larry Ladale Nelson, 23, also of Everett, were charged.

Deputy prosecutor Janice Albert said a Snohomish County sheriff’s detective found hundreds of images of children engaged in sexual conduct on their computers.

Detective Lee Malkow got a tip from Seattle police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Search engine Yahoo had reported that a certain Web site had posted child pornography.

Malkow went to the Nelson residence to execute a search warrant for the computers. The elder Nelson said he was a computer administrator for a large area company. Albert said his computer showed images of young girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The younger Nelson had hundreds of images of adult men and teenage boys engaged in sexually explicit acts.

The older Nelson told Malkow he received pop-ups showing various kinds of pornography. He said he used his search engine to research the origin of the pop-ups so he could delete them, Albert said.
