LAKE STEVENS — The man killed in a crash into a light pole last week in Lake Stevens has been identified.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Earnest Ashley Jr. He was 44. He died of blunt force injuries.
At 8:51 p.m. Nov. 13, Ashley was driving a Honda sedan east on Highway 204, according to the Lake Stevens Police Department. At 91st Avenue NE, he drove through a red light. After going through the light, Ashley drove into a light pole.
Ashley, of Everett, died at the scene. A passenger, another man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
On Tuesday morning, Lake Stevens Deputy Police Chief Jeff Young said police had no update on the investigation into the crash.
