SEATTLE — Former University of Washington football standout Reggie Rogers has been sentenced to two years in prison for drunken driving charges.
Rogers pleaded guilty in May to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a hit-and-run, the seattlepi.com reported. He was sentenced on Thursday to the two-year prison term and electronic home monitoring in King County District Court.
Rogers was an All-American defensive lineman while at UW. A year after being drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1987, Rogers drunkenly ran a red light, striking another car and killing three teenagers inside. He served one year in prison for negligent homicide.
In the latest episodes, Rogers was arrested last October in south King County while driving drunk. A month later he was arrested again when he crashed into another vehicle on Interstate 5 in the same area.
