Front Porch: Meet city manager finalists

Meet Terrace finalistsMountlake Terrace plans an open house this week so the public can meet finalists for the city manager’s job. The event is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Mickey Corso Community Clubhouse at Ballinger Park.

The candidates are Arlene Fisher, Subir Mukerjee and Phil Messina. All have city manager experience.

Final interviews with the City Council are planned for Saturday.

Valentine’s dance: The Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road on Camano Island, plans its annual Valentine’s Dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 15.

Bring your sweetheart or come solo to hear Camano Junction play big band music. Cost is $10 for center members, $12 for non-members, and includes light snacks.

Beach walk in Edmonds: Join Edmonds Discovery Programs and the WSU Snohomish County Extension Beach Watchers for a low-tide beach walk under the stars, from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Olympic Beach, 200 Admiral Way.

Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather. Meet at the Olympic Beach Visitor Station. Explore the beach as the tide goes out, then return to the visitor station for some hot beverages to take the chill off.

The event is free and all ages are welcome. No registration is required.
