GRANITE FALLS — Mayor Haroon Saleem said today that no further details will be released regarding the investigation of Police Chief Tony Domish until the probe is concluded.

Domish was placed on paid administrative leave Friday, but officials did not say why. The move came a week after Granite Falls police began making a series of arrests on drug charges. After the drug sweep, Domish said he received a death threat.

Saleem asked the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office to conduct the investigation. Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Hawkins is filling in as chief until the investigation is complete.

Saleem said Monday that Domish “is entitled to his due process and we want to protect his rights.”

Officials have said the investigation could take about 90 days.
