LAKE STEVENS –- Lake Stevens High School and Highland Elementary were placed in lockdown for a short time this morning as police searched the area for suspects in a home burglary nearby.
Officers were using a police dog to track suspects and asked the schools to lock down as a “safety precaution,” Lake Stevens Police Chief Randy Celori said.
A neighbor called police after she saw someone trying to kick in a door in the 2800 block of 107th Avenue NE, Celori said.
Police used a search dog to try to find the suspect but no one was caught.
