Pedestrian dies after car crash on Evergreen Way in Everett

EVERETT — A man died after a driver hit him Monday morning on Evergreen Way.

The man, 80, was crossing the road near 100th Street SW around 6:10 a.m., Everett Police spokesperson Kerby Duncan said. The driver reportedly couldn’t avoid him.

First responders tried to revive the man, but he died.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, Duncan said.

Traffic detectives shut down southbound lanes for an investigation.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the man’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
