1 killed in 6-vehicle crash on I-405

A driver was in a collision and got out of his vehicle when another driver struck and killed him, state troopers said.

BOTHELL — Southbound I-405 was closed for hours Tuesday morning due to a fatal collision just north of Highway 527.

Jesse Ludington, 41, had crashed and got out of his vehicle when another driver struck him, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Everett man died at the scene.

A total of six drivers and vehicles were involved in the collisions, according to the state patrol.

Southbound I-405, including ramps from I-5, was closed during the investigation.

Just after 10:30 a.m., I-405 reopened.
