LYNNWOOD — A 38-year-old man allegedly stole a Yellow taxicab and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

At 1:45 p.m., deputies responded to calls of shots fired and a carjacking in a Dollar Tree parking lot on the 13600 block of Mukilteo Speedway.

They found the suspect driving the stolen taxi near I-5 and started pursuing him. They called the chase off when he drove the wrong way on the freeway, a statement from the sheriff’s office says.

Shortly after, they picked up the pursuit again. It ended in a crash near the entrance of the southbound I-5 express lanes near Northgate in Seattle.

Deputies arrested the man without further incident. No injuries were reported.
