SULTAN — Rising water levels forced searchers on Saturday to suspend efforts to find a missing Monroe woman.
Jazmine Weitlauf, 22, has been missing since Thursday night after reportedly being swept over a waterfall near Cedar Ponds Lake, off Dagger Lake Road, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Searchers were called in Friday to examine pools and waterways downstream from where Weitlauf fell. Some of her items were found.
The search was suspended Saturday due to rising water levels, sheriff’s Lt. Ian Huri said. That’s only temporary.
“The search teams will resume once the water level has reached a safe level for search operations,” Huri said.
