DARRINGTON — A search began Monday for a missing long-distance hiker on the Pacific Crest Trail near Glacier Peak.
The missing man, 70, had been checking in with his family each day since setting out on the trail in late July, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. His last call came four days ago.
Search teams responded Monday.
A rugged 87 ½-mile stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail crosses through Snohomish County, near Glacier Peak, in some of the most remote wilderness in the lower 48.
Specifics about the man’s last known location hadn’t been released.
