STANWOOD — Snohomish Conservation District is partnering with Puget Sound Public Farms to host its eighth annual Orca Recovery Day on Saturday at Ovenell Park in Stanwood.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In an effort to improve rivers that support salmon, a vital part of orcas’ diet, the hands-on event will involve participants planting native species, removing invasive species and learning about noxious weed management.
“Everyone can play an integral role in restoring salmon and orca populations throughout the region,” said Linda Lyshall, executive director of Snohomish Conservation District, in a press release. “Orca Recovery Day is a chance to celebrate our collective impact and ensure action is taken for generations to come.”
