EVERETT — It seems winter is not quite done with us.
The National Weather Service predicted possible snow mixed with rain in the lowlands and foothills in Snohomish County, continuing for much of the week.
“We do have a disturbance moving in,” meteorologist Dev McMillian said Saturday. “Looks like the heavy hitter will be around later on Sunday and beginning of next week on Monday.”
Temperatures were expected to drop to a low of about 35 degrees Sunday night in Everett.
The high temperatures on Monday should reach 44 degrees, with a low of 30 predicted Monday night.
The foothills around Arlington could see less than half an inch of new snow Monday night, according to the forecast.
The weather service has issued a winter storm warning for the Cascades from 4 a.m. Sunday to 4 p.m. Monday, with 1 to 3 feet of snow predicted above 1,500 feet.
Strong winds reaching up to 35 mph were also expected to last through Sunday night, according to weather service. As of 4:30 p.m. Sunday, 1,483 people in the county were without power, according to the Snohomish County Public Utility District.
