MARYSVILLE — Police arrested a 19-year-old assault suspect Tuesday after reports of a confrontation at Cedarcrest Middle School in Marysville. The incident was reported just after 5 p.m. at the campus, at 6400 88th St. NE, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
A 20-year-old man received a facial injury and was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
“The injury was such that we booked (the suspect) into Marysville Jail for the misdemeanor assault rather than the county jail for felony assault,” Lamoureux said.
A second suspect, 16, also was identified.
The trio allegedly had been using marijuana before the incident. A police report will be sent to prosecutors handling juvenile cases for review and a charging decision involving the 16 year old.
Rumors swirled on social media Tuesday night that someone had been shot.
“That is not the case,” Lamoureux said. “Officers on-scene did not locate any firearms during their search.”
