SNOHOMISH — A teenager was found dead after a fire at a mobile home early Sunday morning.
Around 4:30 a.m., firefighters responded to reports of a camper trailer on fire at the Three Rivers Mobile Home Park in the 13200 block of Elliott Road, according to Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue.
A teenager was trapped in the trailer, fire officials said. Three other people in the trailer escaped.
Firefighters arrived to find the trailer engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the fire and trying to rescue the person, crews found the teenager in a sleeping area of the trailer. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue.
The Red Cross arrived to assist the displaced residents. The Snohomish County Fire Marshals Office was investigating the cause of the fire.
“As the temperature begins to drop, people begin to use many sources of heat to stay warm,” Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue wrote. “Be mindful where you place combustibles in proximity to sources of heat.”
