City should leave acreage to farming

Regarding the Sunday article, “Everett Marshlands park gets another look”:
Is farming dead? It is wrong for Everett to destroy 300 acres of farmland in the Snohomish River Valley. It is wrong to convert even one acre of our precious farmland to parks, treatment plants, or any other nonfarm uses.
Don Bailey is right. This land is currently being farmed and should continue to be farmed. Our valley is being carved up quickly enough. If he champions farmers like he says he does, Aaron Reardon should prevent the city of Everett from stealing this farmland.
