Keep pushing Congress to renew expanded Child Tax Credit

David McGrath’s idea that we ought to make resolutions as nation has a fatal flaw like all resolutions: follow through (“10 resolutions we ought to make as a nation,” The Herald, Jan. 5) Good ideas die without action.
For example, renewing the expanded Child Tax Credit that lifted millions of children out of poverty and help families stay housed while avoiding hunger. Sounds like a good idea that has been proven to work. The resolution we can make to have this renewed is calling on our members of Congress to pass it. Then like good resolutions, we keep following up until they pass it. We are fortunate that our members of Congress in not only listen, but support this initiative. By adding our voices asking them to pass it, it goes to the top of their long list of priorities.
Together we can make this compassionate initiative happen!
