It is telling from the very first sentence of Optum’s e-mailed statement to The Herald where their priorities lie (“Fomer Everett Clinic employees speak out about mass layoffs,” The Herald, Sept. 8):
“We continually review the … needs of our businesses and the people we serve.”
They say it themselves: Business before people.
Obviously the dollar is more important than the well-being of either patients or employees.
