Police kept the peace at Arlington Pride

I was impressed by the Arlington Police Department during Sunday’s Arlington Pride event (“Arlington Pride event draws hundreds, protesters also show,” The Herald, July 24).

The department showed professionalism, calmness and de-escalation tactics when protesters attended the event with the intent to disrupt.

I believe the LGBTQ+ community in Arlington is grateful for the officers who were there and we appreciate what they did to keep all of us safe.
