Protect Lake Tye from park plan

Residents of the Fryelands neighborhoods, users of Lake Tye Park and all residents of the city of Monroe: The Monroe City Council and the mayor are considering a proposal that will bring a cable park for towed water sports to Lake Tye. This will involve several tall metal towers around a portion of the lake as well as some possible negative impact on parking and general use of the park.
As a resident and an avid user of Lake Tye, I am concerned that there will be more of a negative financial, environmental and neighborhood impact under the current proposal that will outweigh any benefit. I encourage everyone that has an interest in Lake Tye Park and the surrounding neighborhood to look at the proposal and let the City Council know how you feel about it.
This is our park and it’s up to us to protect it.
