State economy strong under Gregoire

It is interesting to me the number of strong Barack Obama supporters I speak with who are undecided about the governor’s race, or are considering the “GOP” candidate.

Apparently they are wavering because of the half-truths and misstatements about the record of Gov. Gregoire.

Deficit — there is no deficit! The half-truth is that projections beyond this year would show that there might be a deficit if no actions are taken. Our state is one of the few that will be ending this year with a positive balance! And, steps are being taken to ensure that the possible future deficit does not happen.

Job loss — our state actually has a net job increase! The half-truth is that there have been some jobs lost. But the real truth is that there have been over 200,000 new jobs created in the state. In fact, our unemployment rate has dropped to 5.8 percent, and out our state’s job-growth rate continues to outpace the national average.

These are just two examples where the “GOP” candidate is misleading the public.

The bottom line for all of us Barack Obama supporters is that it is our responsibility to elect a governor who will be a positive partner who will work with him to create the change we desire! Cast your ballot for both Barack Obama and Chris Gregoire!
