The Sno-Isle Sierra Club supports independent journalism. We are impressed by The Herald’s generally excellent coverage of local issues of importance to Snohomish and Island County residents. The environmental and climate reporting consistently educates readers with information they need to know to understand and plan for the effects of the climate and environmental crises we are experiencing right now and into the future.
Several Sno-Isle members participated in the discussions that started the Environmental and Climate Change Reporting fund.
Now it is time for the Sno-Isle Executive Committee to strongly support the Everett NewsGuild during their contract negotiations with The Herald. Achieving a living wage will benefit all participants in the agreement; retention of excellent journalists by The Herald, and stability for the reporters.
We hope your negotiations will proceed to a positive outcome for all participants.
