Sure, Democrats lie; but there’s no comparsion to Trump’s

In what’s apparently an effort to justify Trump’s disassociation with truth a Herald letter to the editor points out that Democrats lie as well and she cites several examples (“Democrats guilty of lying, too,” The Herald, Nov. 9).

Yes, politicians of all stripes lie and exaggerate but Donald Trump is in a league by himself. Nobody cared before, except those he cheated and bullied with his armies of lawyers in his business career which, by the way, is proving to be one of Trump’s biggest whoppers when he calls himself “self-made.” The New York Times, Trump’s favorite newspaper, tells all, about how daddy Fred Trump bailed out his Donald’s bad business decisions over and over again, and it’s all backed by documentation.

Now, a whole nation cares, or should care at least. All the lies Trump ‘has told would fill a book and has filled several of them. Think about it. Republican, Democrat, independent, whatever, it’s a pretty sad situation when we try to excuse or justify Trumps continual lying by pointing out that Democrats also lie. That’s like trying to justify a crime by saying that others commit crimes as well.

This president is morally and ethically bankrupt and no amount of calling every criticism “fake news,” no amount of excuse making, no amount of blaming someone or somebody else, will change what we hear or read coming from the man’s own mouth or his rambling tweets.
