Those who run for office commit to respecting results

I cringe every time I hear a candidate asked, if they “will commit to accepting the results of the election.” The strong implication of that question is that it’s a choice. If that is true, then our democracy is already history. If you are a candidate running for office in an election, you have de facto made the commitment to accept the choice of the people. Otherwise, why waste your time? You should be holding rallies and trying to incite your supporters to take power by force. Does that sound familiar?
