EVERETT – No head coach. No problem.
With its leader absent, the Everett girls basketball team never trailed, beating the Shorecrest Scots 56-50 in a Western Conference South game Wednesday night in Everett.
Erica Hornyak and Elaina Olsen went on like business as usual, each scoring 18 points even though Everett head coach Craig Langley had to miss the game.
“We are a fighting team, Everett assistant coach Kim Liebscher said. “We don’t let down, we pull things together to overcome adversity either brought on by the other team or other circumstances.”
Hornyak controlled the perimeter draining four 3-pointers as Olson banged away down low grabbing 11 rebounds.
