Frogs’ offense held in check in loss to Emeralds

EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox offense was held to just five hits in a 6-1 loss to the Eugene Emeralds on Saturday night at Funko Field.

In his second game with the AquaSox, rehabbing Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger went 1-for-4 with a single as the designated hitter.

Vaun Brown singled home Jimmy Glowenke with what proved to be the winning run in a three-run second inning for the Emeralds.

Noelvi Marte went 1-for-4, Victor Labrada drove in the lone run with an RBI single and Jimmy Joyce allowed four runs on four hits in five innings for Everett (43-45).

Casey Schmitt went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Luis Matos had two hits for Eugene (51-35).
