High school district baseball tournaments begin Tuesday

Edmonds-Woodway and Monroe in 3A, Lake Stevens in 4A are among the top seeds from Wesco.

The high school district baseball tournaments begin this week, with the first loser-out games taking place Tuesday.

The Class 3A District 1 tournament starts Tuesday when ninth-seeded Shorewood (11-9) hosts No. 12 Everett (9-11) and No. 10 Snohomish (8-13) hosts No. 11 Meadowdale (10-10) in loser-out games. The winners of those games travel to face No. 8 Arlington (10-10) and No. 7 Oak Harbor (14-5), respectively, on Thursday, which are also loser out.

The double-elimination portion of the tournament begins Saturday, when the survivor of the Arlington branch draws a road game against No. 1 Mount Vernon (19-2), while the survivor of the Oak Harbor branch hits the road to face No. 2 and Wesco South champion Edmonds-Woodway (16-4). Also on Saturday, Wesco North champion and No. 3 Monroe (16-4) hosts No. 6 Stanwood (12-8) and No. 4 Mountlake Terrace (15-4) hosts No. 5 Shorecrest (15-5).

The Class 2A District 1 tournament also begins Tuesday with loser-out games, as No. 7 Lakewood (5-12) hosts No. 10 Squalicum (0-18) and No. 9 Cedarcrest (4-15) travels to No. 8 Sehome (5-14). The winners advance to the double-elimination stage on Thursday, with the rest of the tournament taking place in Anacortes. The Lakewood-Squalicum winner faces No. 2 Sedro-Woolley (13-7) and the Cedarcrest-Sehome winner faces No. 1 Lynden (16-4). No. 5 Archbishop Murphy (9-11) plays No. 4 Burlington-Edison (10-9).

The Class 1A District 1/2 tournament begins Wednesday when No. 9 Sultan (8-10) travels to face No. 8 Blaine (11-8) in a loser-out game. The tournament then moves to Bellingham for the double-elimination portion beginning Saturday, when the Sultan-Blaine winner takes on No. 1 Cedar Park Christian of Bothell (15-4), and No. 3 King’s (11-6) faces No. 6 Nooksack Valley (9-10).

The Class 4A District 1/2 tournament starts Thursday as No. 8 Jackson (15-4) faces No. 9 Woodinville (11-10) and No. 10 Kamiak (8-12) takes on No. 7 Bothell (12-9) in loser-out games, both at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. The knockout stage begins Saturday, when the Jackson-Woodinville winner faces No. 1 Skyline (16-4), the Kamiak-Bothell winner faces No. 2 Lake Stevens (10-8), and No. 5 Glacier Peak (11-9) faces No. 4 Eastlake (14-7).
