Royals snap Silvertips’ 10-game win streak in overtime

VICTORIA, B.C. — Bailey Peach scored just 27 seconds into overtime as the Victoria Royals snapped the Everett Silvertips’ 10-game win streak with a 4-3 win on Friday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.

After Niko Huuhtanen scored early in the third period to give Everett a 3-2 lead, Evan Patrician potted his second goal of the game at 15:44 in the period to force overtime.

Patrician gave Victoria and early lead with a goal at 4:45 in the first period. Jacob Wright scored later in the period to pull Everett even at 1-1.

The team’s traded goals again in the second with Brayden Schuurman scoring for the Royals and Matthew Ng adding a goal for the Silvertips to make it 2-2.

Braden Holt stopped 14 of 18 shots for Everett (16-0-1-1).

Tyler Palmer stopped 40 of 43 shots for Victoria (3-11-2-0)

Next up for the Silvertips, who still haven’t lost a game in regulation this season, is a 6:05 p.m. Saturday matchup with B.C. Division-leading Kamloops in Everett.
