Opening Round

Snohomish 3, Kentlake 2

YAKIMA — Thirteenth-seed Snohomish beat No. 20 Kentlake in five sets by scores of 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-13 in the opening round of the 20-team 3A state volleyball tournament on Thursday morning.

Snohomish advanced to the Round of 16 and will face No. 4 Mead at 1:30 p.m.Thursday.

Round of 16

Arlington 3, Bishop Blanchet 0

YAKIMA — Eleventh-seed Arlington upset No. 6 Bishop Blanchet in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 30-28 in the Round of 16.

Arlington advanced to face No. 3 Ferndale in the quarterfinals Thursday evening.

Auburn Riverside 3, Stanwood 0

YAKIMA — Ninth-seed Stanwood fell to No. 8 Auburn Riverside in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-20 on Thursday.

Stanwood fell into the consolation bracket and will face No. 16 Interlake at 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

Mead 3, Snohomish 0

YAKIMA — Thirteenth-seed Snohomish fell to No. 4 Mead in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-13 in the Round of 16 on Thursday.

Snohomish dropped into the consolation bracket and will face No. 12 Kelso at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Kelso 3, Snohomish 1

YAKIMA — In its third match of the day, thirteenth-seed Snohomish fell to No. 12 Kelso by scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-20 and 20-8 in a consolation match.

Snohomish finished its season with a 17-6 overall record.

Interlake 3, Stanwood 1

YAKIMA — Ninth-seed Stanwood’s tournament run ended with a 16-25, 25-16, 26-24, 25-21 loss to No. 16 Interlake on Thursday night.

Stanwood finished its season with a 15-6 overall record.

Quarterfinals

Ferndale 3, Arlington 0

YAKIMA — After a win in the Round of 16 over Bishop Blanchet, No. 11 Arlington fell in straight sets to No. 3 Ferndale by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22 on Thursday evening.

Arlington will next face No. 7 Bellevue in the fifth/sixth consolation bracket at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The winner will advance to the fifth/sixth place match.
