M-P girls sink Bothell

BOTHELL – The Marysville Tomahawks led the game from beginning to end with a 69-62 victory in a girls non-conference basketball game Saturday night.

The Tomahawks had to call upon their free throw shooting in the fourth quarter with the Cougars fouling them every time they touched the ball.

The Tommies were 13-for-19 at the line in the fourth quarter and 23-for-33 for the game.

“We made a lot of our free throws when we had to make them,” assistant M-P coach Emil Whitman said.

The Tomahawks were lead by the trio of Jocylin Duce scoring 11 points, Lisa Howell with 11 and Bibiana Ancheta with 18 points and six rebounds.

LeAnn Johnson tried to keep the Cougars close by scoring 18 points with four 3-point shots.
