Everett girl earns spot on state team

Renee Skidmore of Everett, 15, has earned one of four spots on the Washington Junior Golf Association’s Girls Junior Americas Cup team, which will compete Aug. 7-9 at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa, Calif.

The event will bring together 17 other teams from the western United States, Canada and Mexico.

Joining Skidmore on the team are Lauren Ressler of Bellingham, 17; Stephanie Parsley of Chelan, 17; and Katie Brophy of Spokane, 17.

The WJGA’s Boys Junior Americas Cup team will compete July 31-Aug. 2 at Yellowstone Country Club in Billings, Mont. The team includes Charles Koh of Bellevue, 15; Lucas Johnson of Federal Way, 17; Sean Packer of Sumner, 16; and Alex Prugh of Spokane, 16.
