Arlington hangs on to win over Oak Harbor

ARLINGTON – A game-clincher on the last play and the Arlington Eagles are 1-0.
The Eagles defeated Oak Harbor 20-14 Friday night at Arlington Stadium in Friday night’s opening game of the Western Conference North Division.
“Oak Harbor has a big physical team. We picked it up after the first half. it’s good to get a win,” Arlington coach John Boitano said.
Arlington sophomore cornerback Mike King sealed the victory as he intercepted an Oak Harbor pass with just 10 seconds remaining in the game.
Joseph Boitano rushed 22 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Eagles offensive attack in their first game in Class 4A.
Mike Klein caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Kevin McCormack to open the scoring for Arlington in the third quarter.
“It was a great learning experience as our kids learned a bunch,” Boitano said.
Oak Harbor’s Lenny Serfling scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter to end the scoring for both teams.

Marysville-Pilchuck 45, Stanwood 42: Marysville-Pilchuck won a Wesco North slugfest with Stanwood behind 25 second-half points that erased a six-point half-time deficit. M-P’s Ken Kam scored the game-winning touchdown with about five minutes remaining in the game. Stanwood rolled up 379 yards of total offense thanks in part to Julian Bomar’s 170 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while the Tomahawks finished with 372 total yards.
