Hold on, Ethel Thomson.
Thomson, who is 84, teases that she hopes she lives long enough to enjoy the prize she won at a recent firemen’s picnic raffle sponsored by the Edmonds Fire Safety Foundation. Thomson won first prize, a ride on a firetruck in Edmonds’ Fourth of July parade.
Raymond Roppo won second prize, a model of a 1938 Ford fire engine, which he plans to give to his 13-year-old grandson, Danny Parker. On July 7, we wrote about the effort of the foundation to buy the restored 1938 firetruck.
