EDMONDS — A 55-year-old Edmonds woman suffered smoke inhalation after her mobile home caught fire early Saturday morning.
Three fire trucks and 12 firefighters responded to the fire at 2:39 a.m. in the 22100 bock of Edmonds Way, according to an Edmonds Fire Department release.
They found the home’s living room and kitchen on fire. The woman had already left the building by the time firefighters arrived.
The home was saved, but there was $5,000 in damage done to the home, much of it from smoke damage.
Driver lends police a hand: Police arrested a wanted felon after a driver blocked the suspect’s car when he attempted to flee from Edmonds officers.
An officer spotted the man’s vehicle about 6:45 p.m. Friday. There had been a number of car break-ins in the area so the officer contacted the suspect, according to release from the Edmonds Police Department.
The man was wanted on a warrant for drugs. He sped away from police. The officers pursued the car until a man used his truck to block the roadway so the suspect couldn’t go any further, according to the statement.
Upon his arrest, police found methamphetamine in the suspect’s car, according to officers.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of eluding police and drug possession along with the outstanding warrant.
