Man dies after overpass fall

EVERETT – A 23-year-old Everett man fell from the 41st Street bridge over I-5 Sunday morning and died later.

Several witnesses saw the man “crawl over the railing” of the overpass at about 11:19 a.m., said Everett Police Sgt. Cheryl Braley. He landed on the shoulder of the northbound lanes.

The man was taken to Providence Everett Medical Center, where he died, she said.

Police closed the right lane of northbound I-5 until 12:45 p.m., said Trooper Lance Ramsay of the State Patrol.
