Do we want an Airbus tanker factory in Everett?
Published 9:00 pm Monday, February 14, 2005
As you may have heard, Airbus parent company EADS is proposing to build a $600 million factory to convert A330 jets into military refueling tankers. Everett — where Boeing would build the KC-767 tanker — was identified as a potential site for such a plant. City leaders said they’re not interested, but I’ve heard from a handful of you who wish they were.
So what do you think? Should we pursue an Airbus factory or do we refuse Toulouse and remain Boeing Country? Please keep your responses brief, and civil. We play nice here on the Aerospace blog.
For background, here’s a link to two stories from The Daily Mail of London on the topic, which I mention in my Wednesday column:

And here’s an Associated Press story on Tuesday’s meeting in DC:

WEDNESDAY NIGHT UPDATE:
Glitch solved, and everyone’s responses have been reposted. Remember, keep things BRIEF and CIVIL. I’m going to edit out off-color language, and if it’s too much, I’ll delete it.
