European Union trade negotiator Peter Mandelson says Washington state taxpayers are providing $4.2 billion worth of “subsidies for physical improvements of its plants and infrastructure.” I don’t know what the Sam Hill he’s talking about, but that’s one of the assertions he makes in an op-ed piece in Friday’s Washington Post:
