RyanAir discloses size of Boeing discount

The Irish discount carrier says it’s paying $51 million apiece for the 70 737-800s it ordered from Boeing earlier this year. The big news here — that’s only a discount of about 20 percent off the posted list price ($61 million to $68 million). With Airbus knocking as much as 40 percent off the A380’s list price to close deals, the fact that Boeing’s getting much closer to full price for it’s planes strikes me as quite interesting.
