Aerospace analyst launches Web site

Scott Hamilton, who’s another one of those oft-quoted aviation analysts, has launched a new Web site that’s part blog, part list-serv and — at least on opening day — pretty interesting.

Here’s a link:

And here’s an interesting tidbit I mined from a recent issue of Commercial Aviation Report. Hamilton writes it, and he posted a pdf linked to his new site:

“ILFC, Boeing and Airbus

ILFC is the largest customer of Boeing and Airbus, so keeping ILFC’s Steven Udvar-Hazy happy is important. Boeing and Airbus officials presented at the aforementioned ISTAT conference. Scott Carson, a top

official of Boeing Commercial represented Boeing. John Leahy, the very top salesman for Airbus, was there for the French company.

Hazy was in the audience for Carson’s presentation. But Hazy personally made the introduction for Leahy, razzing Leahy in the process for putting Hazy in the hospital during a skiing competition and pushing Hazy into a

swimming pool after announcing a big Boeing order.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, but Hazy’s cozy ribbing of Leahy and noticeable absence concerning Boeing seems to say volumes

about ILFC’s relationship with both Airbus and Boeing.”

ISTAT, btw, is the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders, an industry group for cargo jet operators that met in Arizona earlier this spring.
