All Nippon Airways president Mineo Yamamoto told Bloomberg News in Japan this morning that his airline wants to replace its entire fleet of 747s and older 777s with a single jet type — probably 777-300ERs.
That’s 53 planes in all, which is a big order in anybody’s book. A decision is likely by February, he said.
Key Quote: “We are also studying the A380, but the 777-300ER is the most likely.”
